It is also worth stopping by the picturesque market town, Knaresborough. Only 4 miles from Ripley, the town is well known for their historic riverside walk, viaduct and castle ruins.
In the other direction and only seven miles away is the unspoilt city of Ripon with its imposing 7th century cathedral, fascinating museums and a bustling market square. Close by is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, Yorkshire's first world heritage site.
