‘Staff were absolutely lovely, true Yorkshire welcome, friendly, helpful and efficent. Stayed in Newton, the room was in a separate building across the road, great, huge with a massive comfy bed – tea, coffee, biscuits a lovely touch. The food was delicious and value for money – The tiny village of Ripley is uniquely quaint and very picturesque, great trip all round, thank you.’

Lovely place to stay for a night. Friendly staff and very good food in the restaurant. Great location, 10 minute drive from Harrogate and part of Ripley Castle Estate.
We wish we’d have been able to stay for another night to have had chance to visit Ripley Castle.’
‘We only stayed one night but will definitely be back.  The room was spacious, comfortable and well supplied with tea/ coffee etc. The breakfast was great with a good choice of food and options to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the location was perfect.’
‘Fantastic staff, very welcoming. Room was comfy, bonus for ground coffee in a cafetiere. Location perfect for our needs.’
‘Would definitely stay again, very homely, clean and comfortable with good parking.

The location was perfect with very friendly helpful staff. The food was excellent both breakfast and evening meal . The castle and grounds were very pleasant, pretty and relaxing.’

‘Hal and Luna stayed at the Boar’s Head on Thursday. Safe to say they had a very relaxing break. Thanks for being so welcoming; the beds, bowls and doggie bags in the room were a first at anywhere we’ve stayed before. Thank you for being truly dog friendly, rather than just saying dogs are an accepted. It makes a real difference.
PS, the Pawrents had a really lovely time too and were made to feel just as welcome. ❤️’

‘Staff in hotel were very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and good menu choices. Staff took marvellous photographs of our family group and were helpful with special requirements. The hotel itself had great period atmosphere which added to the very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We had an easy access room to help with our mobility problems which was well equipped and most delightful to stay in. Would be delighted to stay here again in the future.’

‘Amazing Hotel, we really loved it here and wished we could stay longer, Rooms are delightful, our little dog was made very welcome and the food was fantastic, we will definitely return. A nice extra was free entry to the castle grounds if you stay at The Boars Head. Ripley reminds me of the Cotswolds without all the crowds, much nicer!’

‘Everything. Friendly, professional staff, food was exceptional, room was great.’

‘We loved everything about the hotel. The staff, the location, the room, the evening meal and breakfast. Loved the cafeteria and tea pot in the room. Absolutely fabulous.’

‘We arrived at the hotel for a one night stay on the bank Holiday, the receptionist was helpful and friendly she took us across the road to our room which was separate from the main hotel, the room was large and very well presented with a comfy bed.
In the evening we ate at the hotel and I can honestly say the food was superb.’

‘Dear Canine Relations Team,
Thank you for my welcome letter, treats and toy. [You can see in the picture that] I took the toy straight to my bed to hide it from my paw-rents. I had a lovely 4 mile walk around the local area and if I hadn’t been nearly 14 years old would have chased a few Pheasants. The walk made me tired but I did manage to escort my paw-rents to dinner before crashing out for the night.
Looking forward to my next visit,’

‘Staff were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing, quality products. Great location, beautiful village easy to access. Room was a decent size, location quiet and beds super comfy. Also liked the fact being a guest gave you free access to the castle and it’s grounds.’

‘Had a great meal here. The food was delicious; well presented and reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and friendly. Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.’

‘Room was very comfortable, with a good sized en-suite. Breakfast was very good quality with lots of choice. We also had dinner in the bar which was very tasty and in line the price you’d expect in this more expensive part of Yorkshire.’

‘Absolutely fantastic hotel, food and location, the surrounding area is extremely beautiful. The village of Ripley is clean and very pretty. It’s proximity to Harrogate is ideal.’

‘Fabulous hotel set within the estate of Ripley Castle. The room was excellent, and very clean. We ate in the hotel dining room and had a very enjoyable meal, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were all very friendly, and we could not fault the hotel, we will be staying there again.’

Great place dog friendly and onsite car park. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Dinner was good as was the wine list with Meursault at a reasonable £80. Breakfast was first class with plenty of choice, hot and cold. The staff were all very nice and helpful.’

‘Just to say a HUGE thank you for making us all feel SO welcome! We all loved every minute of our overnight stay and you all made us very welcome! Florence & Ted were spoilt rotten! We could clearly see that you are all fully committed to “dog friendly” and that stood out a mile…’

‘Hello, I had a lovely time these last couple of days with my hoomans. Thank you for my welcome bag, comfy bed and bowls. I particularly loved the sausages for breakfast. I’m going to ask them to bring me back sometime. Lots of Love, Alfie XxxxX’
